TIPS FOR USING EXTRA WHITE CASTING GRAIN / ULTRA WHITE CASTING GRAIN

14K Extra (X) White casting grain and 18K Extra (X) White casting grain contain a higher nickel content than traditional white casting grain but do not require Rhodium plating to achieve a good white color. Torch melting has proven successful. There is no melt protection. Be careful not to overheat.

14KAND 18K EXTRA WHITE CASTING GRAIN WITHOUT RHODIUM PLATING

Annealing: Heat in an oven set to 1350-1400º F for 20 minutes, depending on the size of the castings. Quench immediately for 2-4 minutes. Do not allow to air cool. Under certain conditions, all nickel-white gold alloys are susceptible to stress corrosion.

14K Extra White casting grain (14KXCG) casts like 18K white casting grain (18KWCG). Use 14K White Hard Solder or 19W Weld solder for sizing

Cast Temp.    150º F - 225º F above Liquidus Temperature
